Sapphire and Bone
Part of the Sapphire and Bone mini collection of recycled sterling silver. This was sand cast by hand with a lab-grown 5x3mm purple sapphire set upside down.
The shape if the ring is imprinted in delft clay, gemstones carefully positioned inside. Then the clay is closed up, with a gap left to pour in molten metal. The surface of the clay and additional stones create the bone looking appearance of the silver. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, no two pieces can be the same.
